Starting September 1, charitable organisations can register and renew their status online through a new digital registration system on Jamaica's Single Window for Trade (JSWIFT). The service is intended to make registration and renewal easier for charitable organisations, including those connected to Jamaicans in the diaspora. JBDC says she brings experience in public-sector leadership, international trade and investment, policy development, corporate governance, regulatory administration and entrepreneurship. For Jamaicans abroad interested in supporting or building a business in Jamaica, JBDC remains an official place to learn about business-development support.

The councils are part of Jamaica's formal framework for engagement with Jamaicans living overseas.
